Structural inspections in Brisbane: stage, defect and stability checks

An inspection at the right moment is the cheapest engineering you will ever buy. Reinforcement is checked before the pour, not after; a slope is assessed before it moves further, not after the wall fails.

Stage inspections during construction

Footing and pier excavation, reinforcement and formwork before pouring, slab and blockwork, structural steel and connections, frame, bracing and tie-down. Each is checked against the approved drawings, with photos and a written outcome.

Condition, defect and dilapidation inspections

Buying, selling, disputing with a builder, or recording the condition of a neighbouring property before excavation — an engineer's inspection separates real structural defects from finishing issues.

Movement, stability and slope inspections

Slab level surveys and crack monitoring for movement, and slope stability inspections where a batter, cut, fill or retaining wall is showing signs of distress: tension cracking at the crest, bulging, leaning posts, or wet patches at the toe.

Fees

Site inspection $400. Crack inspection $400. Settlement inspection $400. Slope and slip inspection $400. A full written assessment report adds $300 to any inspection, so a report-backed inspection is from $700.
